Working through it all
As the art fair season approaches it started me thinking; it has been a while since I have made a posting so I wanted to catch up on what has been going on.
I had back surgery the day before Thanksgiving. The surgery went very well; I came home the next day. I was not expected to; the surgeon told Denise that he thought 2-3 days given all that he had done of what he had done. I have a rather large scare. I still have a few problems that have slowed me down a bit but I am working through it. I think the age thing may have something to do with the speed of recovery and it is pissing me off a little bit.
I had my usual office visit with our regular doctor and he asked me if I have thought about giving up clay and I told him that I would really not know what else to do, he said he would not ask me to give up my passion. This not the first doctor to ask me this. What would you do if someone said that to you, stop whatever what you care so much for, what people know you for, what is so much a part of you. Not an easy thing to do. Give up your identity. I did that once before when I discovered clay, changed my identity from a theatre person to a clay person. Not a simple thing.
I begin teaching again and I am looking forward to it.
This is all fun
More to come as all of this unfolds.
